Before you sign up for any of the above listed courses, check with your Manager who is recruiting you to get the license. Most people who sign up for these courses do so in ERROR!
Both the Life Agent ONLY and the Accident & Sickness ONLY courses allow you to receive only one license. Both require a 100 question exam from Pearson VUE to be passed BEFORE you can apply for the license. MANY people who get one license, shortly after, realize many advantages of having the other license and wind up repeating the process (and having to pay for it all again) in order to get the other license!
The 40 Hour Pre-Licensing for Life & Health provides for both licenses and is still requires just ONE 100 question exam to be passed through Pearson VUE to be able to apply for BOTH licenses. This is the course most people take! With all the overlap between Life and Health insurance, our opinion is that this one is the one which is easier to pass on the first attempt!! Plus, you get TWO LICENSES! Why go through the additional time, effort and expense of taking them separately? Remember EACH exam is 100 questions. If you take Life only or Health (Accident & Sickness) only, they get to ask MORE questions specific to those areas!
The Sub-Agent License is a special license for someone who will only be representing another fully licensed agent. The Sub-Agent has no relationship with an insurance company. Their agreement is with an Agent, NOT an insurance company. After the 20 hour sub-agent course there is no exam requirement. The agent the sub-agent will represent then files for the sub-agent's license. Again, this is NOT the course for most people. If you are planning to earn commissions from insurance companies, you need one of the above described courses.
